Parent Workshop Scheduled
The Guidance Office will be holding a parent workshop on March 23, 2010 from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. here at LCHS. Topics to be discussed will be Bright Futures Scholarships and Dual Enrollment. Ms. Rhianna Parrish from DOE will be in attendance to give a 30-45 minute presentation on the Bright Futures Scholarships. Ms. Heather Peddie will be discussing dual enrollment. All interested parents are invited to attend.
FSU’s Magnet Lab Annual Open House
FSU’s Magnet Lab Annual Open House is Saturday, Feb. 27 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Open House is geared toward all ages, especially K-12 students. Open House features demonstrations, hands-on experiments, self-guided tours of our 370,000-square-foot facility, and the opportunity to meet and talk with some of the world’s leading research scientists. Their web site features audio slideshows of some of the demonstrations and activities that will be featured at Open House. This activity is always free and open to the public. The “unofficial” price of admission is a canned good or other non-perishable food item to benefit America’s Second Harvest of the Big Bend, though it’s not at all required. Congratulations to Mrs. Amy Hall, our 2009-2010 Employee of the Year and to Mrs. Christy Bentley, our 2009-2010 Teacher of the Year.
College funding workshop for parents of 11th and 12th graders
There will be a college funding workshop for the parents of 11th and 12th graders on the 16th of February. It will be held here at the highschool in the library at 7:00 pm.
